Report reveals rise in recidivism drop in crime for men in their 30s

New report reveals rise in recidivism drop in crime for men in their 30s

A new report shows an increase in the number of men in their 30s who are being incarcerated when they were younger.

The new report from the Sentencing Project shows the number of youth men in their 30s who are serving time for violent crimes has doubled, to 13 percent of all violent offenses.

Of that 13 percent, 14 percent are serving time for sexual assault and 14 percent for non-sexual assault — with the percentage of all offenses classified as violent jumping from 7 percent to 11 percent for men under 40.

“Today, most violent crime is committed by young adults. While men and women still differ on most criminal activity, our survey shows that young men are now less likely to engage in violence in their lifetime compared to two decades ago,” said Alan Batey, executive director and senior fellow at the Sentencing Project.

“The increase in violent offending is especially troubling because violence is the most common form of juvenile crime in the U.S.,” said Kevin Ringle, vice president of the Sentencing Project. “Young people are often incarcerated in ways that threaten their life trajectories. We must continue to reduce youth incarceration costs so w여주안마e can continue to hold young people accountable as responsible adults for their actions.”

The report found there is strong evidence to suggest that the recidivism rate for young adults is much lower among young men when compared to young women.

In addition, the study reports that while recidivism rates for young women rose slightly in 2009 and 2010, that remained unchanged in 2011. For young men, the increases for 2009 were slightly greater than those for the previous two years.

There are reasons w슬롯 머신hy violent crime and substance abuse offenses are less serious in a young person’s life than for adults. It is also well-documented that youth under 30 are more likely to commit violence, commit other types of crime and commit other ty로투스 홀짝pes of crimes at a younger age than a comparable population of adults, although there is less research addressing this.

“As policymakers and leaders, it is important to have the tools we need to keep our communities safe and to develop strategies to target the right youth, to help them grow into healthy, responsible, productive adults,” said Margo Stapleton-Carr, president and chief executive officer of the Sentencing Project.

“This is why our report is so important. It helps inform polic
